A true freeskiing encyclopedia, he grew with the sport of freeskiing with his older brothers Antoine and Charles by his side, two legends of the sport who brought creativity into skiing, something that was missing after the New Canadian Air Force created the foundation of the sport. Vinny has been setting his own path as a professional skier for some time. His many mind bending tricks, his vision of the sport, and his X Games medals have earned him respect throughout the freeskiing community. Because of that he has been a veteran judge of film competitions having judged the X Games Real Ski series and IF3 in the past.
Grew up snowboarding in the Laurentian region of Quebec, quickly being scooped up by Burton at age 14. He has since traveled around the world to shred, spending a lot of time in places like Austria and Chile. He has won numerous major competitions like Tokyo Rail Days in Japan and Empire Backyard Party here in Montreal, and you may recognize him from certain french snowboard TV shows and street segments from the Brothers Factory crew over the past few years. Now aged 28 and working for Burton Canada in sales, Zach stays involved as can be on the local level, making sure to grow the sport wherever possible. As passionate as they come.
After first stepping on a snowboard in 1992, Giom Giom had taken his technical spinning to the pinnacle of the world half pipe scene. As part of the Quebec infamous 413 clique, Giom cut his teeth on the icy transitions of the East Coast first earning a place on the Original Sin team and later receiving support from Nitro snowboards. Giom remained true to the trannys resulting in several podiums including World Cup & Grand Prix victories. What set Giom from the rest of the field was his technical take on trickery. While his peers were beginning their runs with double overhead straight airs, Giom distinguished himself by dropping in and immediately boosting switch Michalchucks. This approach cemented the idea that riders should be rewarded for throwing their riskiest moves early and it earned “Le Petit Prince” the 2000 US Half Pipe Open title. Wins at the 2001 Toyota Big Air and the 2004 Breckenridge Vans Triple Crown slope style shows he was able to find success at other disciplines. These days, Giom, spends his winters living the vagabond life following the contest tours, only now, come every Saturday instead of putting on a bib he his passing judgment. Giom has become a sought after judge for top tier events like the X Games, Red Bull Double Pipe, and Burton Global Open Series.
