At the age of 21, Jean Tonnelier turned his back on competition. As the junior world freeride vice-champion, he chose a different path, one that was steeper, wilder, and more personal: mountain skiing.
In the Aravis mountains, where he grew up, Jean learned to unlearn. He distanced himself from the noise of the podium to listen to what the slopes had to say. Alongside his friends and mentors, he discovered new trajectories—technical, physical, but also personal.
Carried by the voices of his loved ones, between the tender words of his grandparents and the camaraderie of his climbing companions, the film paints a portrait of a young man in transition. Between shadows and light, solitude and companionship, verticality and doubt.
