Olivier Gingras-Gagnon: Coach Man Guy

Donate to help iF3

COACH MAN GUY follows the path of a French Canadian ski coach who moves from Québec to Whistler, then to Santiago, Chile, in search of better coaching opportunities and year-round winter.

The film documents his time in the Whistler backcountry with a group of young skiers learning to push their limits and build the knowledge needed to travel safely in the mountains. In Chile, he turns the focus toward local skiers—sharing their stories, ambitions, and the growing ski culture in the Andes.

Alongside the travel and coaching, the film also explores the dynamic with his partner, a skier who’s determined to carve her own path. As she asks to be coached and join him in more serious terrain, their relationship shifts and evolves, blending personal and professional challenges.

Shot with a raw, DIY approach, COACH MAN GUY is a personal look at skiing, coaching, and the people trying to make it work across seasons and continents.
