A self-produced and directed memoir of the 2026 winter in the Alps, with an entirely original soundtrack composed by Rory Johns, 'Stranger No More’ follows New Zealander Manu Barnard from his much loved temporary home in Birgitz, Austria, to France, Switzerland, Italy, and back to Tirol, making the most of a limited snow and avalanche season. The video celebrates the community and sense of belonging that Manu has found over the last 5 winters based in Austria, which transcends divisions between snow riding craft and genres. Since arriving in Austria as a competitive freerider, ‘the dream’ morphed from chasing events into the self-determined lifestyle depicted in this piece.
