In January 2020 a crew of four set out on a winter canoeing expedition, with the objective to do a 140 km paddle down the Columbia river, from Mica back to Revelstoke, while winter camping and split-boarding the mountains surrounding the river. Once out on the river the group experienced an arctic outflow that brought some of the coldest temperatures that the province has seen in a 100 years, which presented unexpected challenges and danger for the crew.
