Three women venture from British Columbia to Patagonia to explore what’s possible, only to be met with harsh conditions, unexpected challenges, and their own limits.
Drawn by wild landscapes and the promise of exploration, the expedition begins with excitement and ambition, but Patagonia has other plans. As unpredictable weather, logistical breakdowns, physical exhaustion, and self-doubt set in, the journey quickly becomes less about the destination and more about resilience.
Stripped of comfort, certainty, and control, the women are forced to confront fear, ego, and the unspoken expectations placed on themselves and each other. What It Takes peels back the polished image of adventure to reveal the emotional and mental reality behind expeditions.
This is not a story of perfection or conquest, but of adaptation, trust, and redefining success when everything doesn’t go according to plan. Set against the stark beauty of Patagonia, the film is an unfiltered look at what it truly takes.
